Ход урока
I. Организационный момент
Today we’ll
have an unusual lesson. We’ll have a trip to Australia. Before planning
traveling I want to tell you that I’ve received an invitation. My friends
invite me to visit them. They want to know as much information about
environmental problems of our region as possible.
II. Введение в речевую среду.
Yesterday I
saw a terrible news report and I want to show it to you. (Выпуск новостей об экологической ситуации в районе реки Вилюй)
T: What is
this news about (it’s about pollution of the river Vilyui). Is it a bad
problem? (Yes, it is). What kind of problem is it? (It’s an ecological
problem). What do you mean? (It’s water pollution).
Thank you
for your answers. Let’s speak about school now. Do we have ecological problems
in our school? What are they?
(Картинки)
P1: Litter
after the lessons in the class rooms
P2: A lot of
dust in the classrooms and corridors
P3: Pupils
don’t bring a second pair of shoes
P4: Not
enough plants
T: So, we
know about our problems and it is high time to start our trip to Australia. Are
you ready to travel? OK, close your eyes. Let’s go!
(Звучит
музыка)
T: Here we
are at last!
Here we are
in Sydney, the largest and oldest city in Australia. Sydney is home to nearly
four million people. Sydney’s population is mainly English in background, but
more than a quarter of its residents were born overseas! The main countries of
origin are the UK and Ireland, New Zealand, Europe, former Eastern Bloc
countries, Lebanon and South East Asia. Although English is the main language
spoken, one in five Australians speaks a language other than English. Italian,
Greek, Arabic/Lebanese, Chinese and Spanish are the foreign languages most
commonly spoken. Tourists from all over the world are attracted by Sydney’s
natural beauty, Mediterranean climate, and its impressive galleries, museums,
architecture and parks. With a warm, sunny climate it is not surprising that
Sydney is city of sport lovers. No wonder the city was chosen to host the 2000
Olympic Games.
III. Развитие навыков диалогической речи с извлечением
необходимой информации
P1: What are
your first impressions of Australia?
P2: The
first thing I was impressed with was how polite and helpful everyone here is.
P1: Yes.
Australians are very friendly
P2: Even the
drivers here are nice. They stop their cars and wait for pedestrians to cross.
Pedestrians always have the «right of way». And buses and taxis are given a
special lane, so that people who use public transportation rarely wait in
traffic. That’s great!
P1: What
about you, Olga? What did you notice?
P3: I am
very impressed by the number of different plants and birds that live right in
the city.
Sydney is
surrounded by national parks. Even in the center of the city, birds nest in
trees beside office towers and busy streets. It seems like Australians really
love nature P1:Yes, we do. We try to protect our nature and our animals. We
became aware of our environmental problems only after we realized that too many
trees had been cut down and many animal species had been lost. Now we have
separate recycling bins for cans, bottles and general garbage in several
locations throughout the city. And today new trees are being planted all over
Australia.
IV. Развитие навыков монологического
высказывания.
P4: As for
me, I want to tell you about our native place. The nature is diverse including
the Artic tundra on the coast of the North Ocean and the rocky mountains of the
Aldan plateau southwards. The climate is sharply continental. Winters are
extremely cold .In summer the sun doesn’t set for many days, while in winter
the popular night reigns there long months. The inimitable Lena River flows as
long as 4, 5 thousand kilometers. The voyage aboard the comfortable pleasure
boat from the rivers source to its mouth will impress you immensely. Fishing
will be real pleasure for angels. (Слайды о Якутии)
Р5: Yakutia is a hospitable
land. Yakutsk is connected with the cities and settlements of the CIS with
dense web of air routes. You can see for yourselves that Yakutia is wonderful
land which has no equals in the world? But the ecological situation is very
serious in some areas of our republic. The water of the Vilyui and Indigirka
rives is poisoned. Land around large industrial centres such as Neryungri and
Mirny is polluted. Plants are poisoned. Scientists warn not to pick up
mushrooms and berries nearby roads. Forests are cut down or are burned by fire.
Birds and animals vanish. Our environment is in danger. It needs protection.
Nature’s state influences our health. We should think more about preserving
forests, rivers, animals, plants and the beauty of nature. But still nature
needs our help. We must change our attitude towards environment, must not do
any harm to it, and take real care of our land. (Слайды о Якутии)
V. Активизация навыков письма.
T: We see it
is personal action that will help preserve the world’s environment. Actions
which are simple and quick. Yet overall they will make an effective and
positive contribution to the environment. There are many actions that each
person can take every day. Let us remember and write.
Some hints
on how you can make a difference!
The
following is a list of tips that are given to Australian students to save
energy. Which of these tips are applicable for where you live?
Which of
these do you already practice?

VI. Активизация навыков работы в группах
T: Now let’s
think how can you solve the ecological problems? I will divide you into 2
groups: Australian school Green Peace, Town Green Peace and international Green
Peace. Each group should choose right statements for their green peace
organizations and make a poster with them.
(Раздать каждой группе бумагу, клей, фломастеры)
Clean the
classrooms Arrange wild parks all over the world Don’t throw out chemical waste
into the oceans and seas Water the flowers in the classrooms Close factories
that produce waste in your town Don’t throw the rubbish in the classrooms Don’t
cut down rain forests Bring a second pairs of shoes with you Build more
recycling centers Don’t throw the litter on the beaches Take care of endangered
animals and birds Plant more flowers and trees in the city Don’t run along the
corridors Don’t build many roads in the city
VII. Подведение итогов урока.
T: We are
all part of the natural environment and need to be responsible for our
interactions with our environment. My advice to all children and grown ups is
to recognize the importance of our planets naturals systems and variety of
life. We need to thing about our part in the environment and how our actions, such
as, our use of water, production of rubbish and energy consumption can directly
destroy our wildlife and natural habitats.
If we don’t
begin to change our behavior, we will have no world to live. You can recycle,
walk or ride a bike, plant a tree and appreciate the beauty of the nature
around you.
